Global B2B marketplace
One marketplace for scrap traders, wherever the demand actually is
ScrapTrade is a global scrap marketplace, not a local classifieds board with international written on it. A seller in one country and a buyer in another can list, negotiate, and settle a deal through the same escrow and verification process as two traders in the same city.
The problem with staying local
"My network only reaches so far, and the best offer might be somewhere else"
"We move a consistent volume of aluminium every month, but we're only ever quoting it to the three buyers we've always used. I have no idea if that's actually the best we could be getting."
This is the position most scrap traders and dealers are in, whether they are moving a few pallets a month or running a full-time trading operation. Relationships with a known set of buyers are valuable and hard-won, but they also cap what you can see. A buyer three countries away actively looking for exactly what you have never gets the chance to bid, simply because they were never in your address book. Trade fairs and broker networks solve part of this, slowly and at real cost. A digital marketplace solves the discovery problem directly.
How it works
Trade across borders the same way you'd trade across town
-
Register and verify once
A single KYC verification covers you as a trader on the platform, regardless of which country your buyers or sellers are based in.
-
List, browse, or post a Wanted Board request
Your listing or your sourcing request is visible to every registered trader active in that material category, not filtered by geography.
-
Settle through the same escrow process
A domestic deal and a cross-border deal both move through the same 5% Stripe-held deposit and 24-hour confirmation window. Distance does not change the payment protection.
Looking for a specific grade or volume you can't source locally? Post it once and let matching traders anywhere respond.
Browse open requestsTraders already using ScrapTrade this way
ScrapTrade does not publish a regional exclusivity list or claim coverage of every market, but the platform's architecture was built for cross-border trading from the outset rather than added on afterward. Traders based in Australia, and buyers and sellers in other regions actively sourcing ferrous and non-ferrous material, use the same listings, the same Wanted Board, and the same escrow process.

Why this actually pays off
What a global pool of traders changes
More buyers than your own network
A listing visible to a global pool of registered traders gets a wider spread of offers than a fixed list of contacts you already know.
One verification, one payment process
KYC and escrow work the same way regardless of where a counterparty is based, instead of every cross-border deal needing its own bespoke trust arrangement.
Manage it from your phone
ScrapTrade can be installed as an app directly from your browser, so listings, messages, and Wanted Board requests are checkable without a desktop.
A B2B tool that also works for one-off sellers
The same marketplace serves a registered trading business sourcing regular volume and an individual selling a single load, without separate tiers or gated access.
Trust, and the honest limitation
What ScrapTrade does not do
Being upfront about scope matters more here than anywhere else, because cross-border trade carries real logistics and compliance questions that a marketplace cannot solve for you. ScrapTrade verifies trader identity, provides the listing and negotiation tools, and holds payment in escrow. It does not arrange international shipping, does not handle customs clearance, and does not advise on import or export regulations for any specific country. Those remain the responsibility of the buyer and seller, the same way they would be if the deal had been arranged by phone.
So what does the platform actually protect me from?
The two failure points a marketplace can genuinely control: dealing with an unverified, uncheckable counterparty, and a payment that moves before the material is confirmed received. Those are solved by KYC verification and the escrow deposit. Everything downstream of that, freight, customs, insurance, is a separate arrangement between the two parties.

Frequently asked questions
Is ScrapTrade only for large B2B buyers, or can individuals trade here too?
Both. Individual sellers clearing out scrap and registered businesses sourcing bulk volume use the same marketplace. Business accounts can additionally show a verified trading history to other buyers and sellers.
Does ScrapTrade arrange international shipping or customs clearance?
No. ScrapTrade is the marketplace and payment layer, not a freight forwarder or customs broker. Buyers and sellers arrange logistics and are responsible for compliance with their own country's import and export rules.
Is there a ScrapTrade app?
ScrapTrade can be installed directly from your browser as an app on your phone or desktop, so you can manage listings and messages without opening a browser tab each time.
How is this different from a local scrap trading network?
A local network is limited to the buyers and sellers you already know. A global marketplace exposes your listing, or your Wanted Board request, to every registered trader active in that material category, regardless of where they are.
