How it works
Three steps, with one important order

Email cs@scraptrade.com.au with your name and your contact's name and email before they sign up, so the referral is logged against your account from the start.

They sign up and trade
Your contact creates a free ScrapTrade account and completes one trade, buying or selling, worth $10,000 USD or more.

You get paid
Once that trade settles through escrow, the team confirms it and pays your $100 USD directly by bank transfer.
The order matters: referrals can't be credited retroactively for someone who signed up on their own before being logged against your account. Reach out before they register, not after.

Individual sellers, scrap dealers, recyclers, manufacturers, and yards can all take part in referring.
Individuals
Anyone with scrap to sell or a need to buy: a neighbour, a tradesperson clearing a job site, a friend renovating.
Businesses
Scrap yards, recyclers, manufacturers, demolition contractors, or exporters. The $10,000 USD minimum is easy to reach at business volumes.
Terms, in plain English
- Reward: $100 USD per successful referral.
- Trigger: one trade, buying or selling, worth $10,000 USD or more, with payment settled through escrow.
- No cap: refer as many people as you like, each qualifying referral pays $100 USD.
- Email must be sent before the referred person signs up, so the referral is logged against your account.
- Payment is manual for now, by bank transfer, after the team confirms the trade.
- Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, and referrals for existing users don't qualify.
- The program can be updated or ended at any time; already-logged referrals that meet the criteria will still be honoured.

This program is for referring one person or business you know personally, and pays $100 USD on a $10,000 USD trade. The affiliate program is for promoting ScrapTrade to a wider audience you don't necessarily know personally, a blog, a channel, an industry network, and pays $50 USD on a $5,000 USD trade. Telling one contact fits this program. Reaching an audience fits the affiliate program instead.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to refer someone before they sign up, or can I do it after?
Before. Email cs@scraptrade.com.au with your account email and your contact's name and email before they register, so the referral can be logged against your account. A referral cannot be credited retroactively for someone who already signed up on their own.
What counts as a completed trade for this program?
A trade is complete once payment has cleared through ScrapTrade's escrow and the deal is marked settled, a won auction, an accepted fixed-price purchase, or an accepted Wanted Board offer, with funds released. A trade still in negotiation, an unpaid auction, or a cancelled deal does not qualify yet.
Can I refer a business, not just an individual?
Yes. Scrap dealers, recyclers, manufacturers, and yards are welcome referrals, with no restriction to personal contacts. The same $10,000 USD single-trade minimum applies.
How is this different from the affiliate program?
